Parents eventually realize that their child is “different” from their peers at a mainstream school as the kids’ performance surpasses most, if not all, of their other classmates. There are other situations where the kids are simply bored because they are at higher intellectual levels and are not challenged enough.

Motivation plays a huge role in the success of students. Unfortunately, time and again we have seen students struggle in their traditional classrooms for any of the following reasons and more: they cannot do the assigned work, effort needed to complete the assigned work seems great, classroom instruction does not engage, fails to see adequate pay-off to doing the assigned work, lack of confidence or even lacking a positive relationship with the teacher. As the students progress through the years without alleviating these issues will worsen the situation exponentially.
