Our Assessments

Our academics are tailored around the students according to their skills and abilities.

We believe that assessment is not the endgame of learning. No student is ever left behind or considered less valuable. We understand that testing and assessments are merely a tool-set that helps us to address the gaps in learning and thereby help the students achieve their potential.

Gap analysis measures the student’s current ability at and the student’s overall potential.

These assessments are done with the ACT Aspire for Academics and Cornell Critical Thinking Test to determine students’ abilities and college & career readiness. No matter what students score on these assessments, we have faith in students’ potential and help them step by step to accomplish their goals.

Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of minds to think.Albert Einstein

Cornell Critical Thinking Assessment

Our Critical Thinking Assessment helps parents, students, and the academy determine the critical thinking ability of our students. The assessment considers faculties such as memory and academic initiative to determine a student’s potential. Cognitive faculties (e.g. problem-solving) are determined through a series of questions based on real-world problems. Upon testing these faculties, the assessment determines a student’s strengths & weaknesses. The results of the assessment show how close a student is to fulfilling his/her potential so we know how to help!

We offer Cornell Critical Thinking Test : Level X for grades five through twelve and Level Z for grades ten through twelve.

The assessment help us, the students and parents to predict students’ future performance in honors and advanced placement classes, critical thinking classes, state proficiency exams, college admission and even in a career situation.

Academic Assessments – ACT Aspire

Nextide Academy has partnered with ACT to make academic testing available at our learning center. ACT Aspire is an assessment system that measures academic achievement in English, math, reading, science, and writing in grades 3 through 10. ACT Aspire is linked to the ACT College and Career Readiness Standards, research – based information that makes test results meaningful by connecting a student’s ACT Aspire score to specific skills and knowledge important for college and work success. We use this information to address areas for improvement, build on strengths and most importantly, impact our student’s potential.

Both ACT Aspire and The ACT are linked to ACT’s College and Career
Readiness Standards and College Readiness Benchmarks. The ACT College and Career Readiness Standards are precise descriptions of the essential skills and knowledge that students need to become ready for postsecondary education and the world of work, beginning in grade 8 and continuing through grade 12, plus further standards representing higher levels of preparation.

ACT’s College Readiness Benchmark scores on the subject‐area tests in The ACT represent the level of achievement required for students to have a 50 percent chance of obtaining a grade of B or higher, or about a 75 percent chance of obtaining a C or higher, in corresponding credit-bearing first-year college courses (English Composition, College Algebra, introductory social science courses, and Biology). By extending these Benchmarks statistically from the first year of postsecondary education back through the third grade, ACT provides students, families, and educators with a coherent road map of what students have learned and what they are ready to learn next as they progress from the early elementary grades through high school graduation.

Together, ACT Aspire and The ACT compose a cohesive and aligned assessment system that documents student progress toward college and career readiness, a cohesion and alignment not currently possible with any other assessment system.

ACT Aspire maps learner progress from grades three through high school on a vertical scale, anchored to the scoring system of the ACT.

ACT Aspire reports reflect the needs of educators, students, and parents and
facilitate early academic interventions to help students get
or stay on target for college and career readiness. Reports display information in a clean, direct manner with both numerical and graphical representations supported by descriptive text.
